Guilford Wins Overtime Thriller at Bridgewater, 63-62

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Gabby Oglesby drilled a jumper from the low block with 0.6 seconds left in the first overtime set to give the Guilford Quakers (11-2, 8-0 ODAC) a hard-fought 63-62 victory over the Bridgewater Eagles in women's basketball action Friday evening in Nininger Hall.

The win extended Guilford's winning streak to 11 games, the Quakers' longest since 2002.

Bridgewater (6-5, 4-4 ODAC) guard Jenny Logan same up clutch for the second time in three games with a trey to force overtime, before the Quakers again took a late lead on a pair of free throws with under 30 seconds to play.
 
Eagles forward Katelynn Hottinger knocked in a layup to put Bridgewater up 62-61 with 11 seconds left in the game.

Out of the timeout, the Quakers had a look at the hoop and Oglesby made it count from short range to hand the Eagles a tough 63-62 loss.
 
Bridgewater was led offensively by a 15-point effort from Jessica Mullen. Logan chipped in 13 in the loss, while Hottinger knocked in eight.
 
On the glass, Bridgewater controlled things, outrebounding the Quakers by a 55-to-39 gap.


Guilford was led offensively by Jazlyn Gibbs' 15-point outing. Oglesby chipped in 14, including the game winner.

The Quakers visit league-rival Eastern Mennonite University Saturday (1/14) at 4:00 p.m.
