INDIANOLA - Sarah Anciaux scored 15 of her game-high 23 points in the second half and Coe won for the first time in 20 tries at Cowles Fieldhouse, beating Simpson 81-79 in a battle of Iowa Conference front-runners Saturday afternoon.

Kayla Lincoln finished with 18 points and Kayla Waskow had 15 for the Kohawks (No. 23 WBCA/No. 25 D3hoops.com), who extended their winning streak to 16 games. Coe (19-2, 11-1 Iowa Conference) had never won at Cowles Fieldhouse.

Stacey Schutjer scored 18 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the Storm (17-4, 11-1), who saw their 16-game winning streak come to a close. Kate Nielsen came off the bench for 11 points, Jeni Hegstrom finished with 10 and seven rebounds and Kelsie Reeves had seven assists.

Trailing by nine late in the first half, Coe went on a 12-1 run in the final four minutes of the period, taking a two point at halftime. A 6-0 run to start second pushed the lead to eight and Coe never trailed the rest of the way.

Darrina Bledsoe tied the game at 74 with 2:36 remaining, but Devvin Rolston answered with a layup. Amy Hamilton's only field goal of the game was a 3 that pulled Simpson within one with eight seconds left, but Waskow hit a free throw in the final second and Reeves couldn't get a good look at a desperation heave.

After attempting only two free throws in the first half, Coe went 19-for-22 in the second. Simpson shot 19-for-26 from the line but made only two 3-pointers to Coe's eight.

The Storm look to come back from the tough loss when they face Central in Pella on Wednesday, Feb. 9.  Tip off is set for 6 p.m.
