WHITEWATER, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's basketball team faced the challenge of playing No. 15 UW-Whitewater on the road after a two week layoff. The Warhawks used a pressing defense to take the lead and harass the Eagle offense all night en route to a 91-63 victory.

UW-Whitewater (11-2) jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead before Brittany Bylsma got the Eagles on the board with a layup and Danielle Dixon knocked down a three-point basket to cut the deficit to one. The Warhawks extended the lead to seven before the Eagles (6-5) went on another 5-0 spurt. Alison Tobin made a layup and Denay Hering made a three-point basket to cut the deficit to 19-17 with 13:41 left in the first half.

However, that was as close as Edgewood College would get the rest of the way as the Warhawks defense proved too much for the Eagles who turned the ball over 32 times to UW-Whitewater's 26 turnovers.

Edgewood College closed the first half on a 9-6 run, capped by five straight points by Tobin. She drained a three-point basket then made a jump shot with 12 seconds left to make the halftime score 50-34 Warhawks.

Tobin poured in 15 points in the first frame to set a career-high, which she added to in the second half, on 6-for-7 shooting from the floor, including 2-for-2 from three-point range.

UW-Whitewater opened the second half on a 20-4 run to take a 70-38 lead with 15:07 left to play. From there, the Warhawks cruised to a 91-63 victory.

Tobin finished the game with 19 points Dixon led all scorers with a career-high 21 points. The duo combined to shoot 14-for-22 from the floor, including 5-for-7 from three-point range and went a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line. The Eagles shot 31.8 percent (21-for-66) from the field and the Warhawks shot 45.6 percent (31-for-68).

Dana Thompson led the Warhawks with 20 points in the contest.
