Hood Tips Gordon To Win Tipoff Classic

WENHAM, MA. -- Hood College put three players in double figures and pulled away in the second half for a 61-46 victory over Gordon in the finals of the Gordon Tipoff Classic.  Dyanna Prater led all players with 17 points, while Kameran Evans and Allyson Lethbridge each scored 14 points.

The Scots were up 16-9 midway through the first half, before the Blazers got hot from outside and went on a 22-6 run to close out the first half.  Hood drilled four 3-pointers in the first half.  Hood continued on an 11-4 run to begin the half, opening the way to a 42-27 lead.  The Blazers never relinquished control the rest of the way.

Freshman Clancey Adams shot 5 of 7 from the field and led Gordon with 12 points.  Sara Schwanke followed her 19 point performance on Friday with 10 points on Saturday and was named to the All-Tournament team.  Lethbridge and Briana White were named All-Tournament for the Blazers.

Gordon shot 50% from the field, but was hampered by 25 turnovers.  The Scots will be back in action on Tuesday when they host St. Joseph's (Maine) at 6P.M.
