Napoleon Scores 25 in Win Over Farmingdale State

Madison, N.J. - Junior guard Yonathan Napoleon (Los Angeles, Calif.) scored a game-high 25 points as Drew University earned an 81-72 non-conference victory over Farmingdale State in Madison, N.J. on Thursday evening. The FSC men's basketball team now stands at 3-3 on the year, while the Rangers improved to 3-4.

Tied 13-13 with 7:55 remaining in the first half, the Rams used a 7-0 run over the next 3:06, which saw five points from junior guard Trey Kinard (Deer Park, N.Y) to take a 20-13 lead. After a layup and free-throw from sophomore forward George Riefenstahl (Bayport, N.Y.) put FSC ahead 23-15, Drew closed the half with six straight points to go into the break trailing, 23-21.

With 15:24 left to play and the Rangers on top 38-36, an 8-0 run gave Drew a 10-point lead, 46-36. After sophomore guard Matthew Graham (Valley Stream, N.Y.) hit a 3 on FSC's next possession, an 8-1 Drew run which included a pair of Napoleon 3-pointers opened up a 54-40 advantage.

Trailing by 15 with less than five minutes remaining, the Rams tallied six unanswered points to cut the deficit to 72-63. Drew held at least a seven-point lead down the stretch as they earned the 81-72 win.

The Rangers connected on nine 3-pointers in the second half.

Kinard tallied a team-high 18 points, while Graham scored 17 points, had seven rebounds and three assists. Sophomore guard Ali Mableton (Brentwood, N.Y.) scored 16 points and senior forward Weldon Irvine* (Queens, N.Y.) secured a team-leading 10 boards for the Rams.

Sophomore forward Nate Aldrich (Franklinville, N.J.) recorded a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds for Drew.

Farmingdale State next will host CCNY in a non-conference game at Old Westbury on Monday, December 12th at 7:00 p.m.
