LA PLUME, Pa. – Four Cavaliers scored in double figures today as the No. 3 Cavaliers scored a 94-84 victory at Keystone College in a rematch of the 2013 CSAC Championship game. The victory improved the Blue and White to 16-0, including 10-0 in conference play.
Junior Aaron Walton-Moss led the way with 27 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, four steals and two blocks. Freshman Matt Forrest recorded a pair of career highs with 16 points and four three pointers in his third consecutive start.
Senior Fran Rafferty tallied 13 points, nine rebounds and four assists, while fellow senior Jon Miller posted his third double-double of the season, pairing 10 points and 10 boards in the win.
The Giants built an early lead, leading by six points about four minutes into the game. The Cavaliers kept the game tight before taking over midway though the half. Trailing 23-19 at the 11:36 mark, sophomore Brad Fagan hit a three pointer the sent the Blue and White on a 15-0 run. Just over four minutes later, a Forrest three pointer extended Cabrini's lead to 34-23 and the Cavaliers never looked back.
After leading 49-37 at the half, the Blue and White held firm in the second half. Cabrini held Keystone to less than 39% second half shooting and led by at least 10 points for all but 57 seconds of the second half.
The Cavaliers continued its hot shooting from the field, connecting on 53.6%, including 9-19 from three point range. Cabrini also dominated the painted area, outscoring the Giants 50-22 in the lane. It also owned a 48-33 rebounding advantage, including 14-7 in offensive rebounds.
Fagan finished the game with eight points and a season high seven rebounds, while junior Vinny Walls returned to the line-up with six points.
Duncan Lunsford led four Giants (7-9, 4-5 CSAC) in double figures with 27 points and seven rebounds. Mles Dargan added 16 points and Jesse Longmire 15 for Keystone.
The Cavaliers return to action on Wednesday when they visit Gwynedd Mercy University (14-3, 9-1 CSAC) in a battle for the CSAC's top spot. Game time is slated for 8:00 p.m. in Gwynedd Valley, Pa.
