Lakers Prevail over Cardinals in SUNYAC Men's Basketball

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State men's basketball team (6-11, 4-6 SUNYAC) dropped a close encounter to Oswego State (14-3, 10-0 SUNYAC) 69-64 Friday in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action.
 
The conference leading Lakers trailed at Memorial Hall for the long periods of the game. They finally took the lead with 11:30 remaining in the game and held on for the win. The Cardinals were within four points of the Lakers with 59 seconds remaining in the game, but six foul shots pushed Oswego to victory.
 
The Cardinals led at the break 33-30 after getting the better of a back and forth contest that saw six lead changes.
 
The Lakers were impressive from three point range, shooting 52.2 percent for the game. The Cardinals shot 51.9 percent from the field.
 
Ezra Hodgson led the way for the Cardinals scoring 14 points and going 4-for-6 from outside the arc. Junghoon Roh added 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting including going 2-for-2 from three point range.  John Perez notched eight point and eight rebounds.
 
Ryan Sheridan came off the bench to lead the Lakers, scoring 21 points after hitting four of his five three point attempts. Sean Michele also went 4-of-5 from beyond the arc for 16 points and Chad Burridge scored 13 points.
 
The Cardinals host SUNY Cortland tomorrow in conference action. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.
