PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - The Oswego State men's basketball team started the second half of its SUNYAC schedule by hitting 12 three-pointers in a come-from-behind 69-64 win at Plattsburgh on Friday night.

The Lakers (14-3, 10-0 SUNYAC) trailed by as many as eight points in the first half, but rallied to cut the Cardinals (6-11, 4-6) lead to 33-30 at the half and then pulled away in the second half.

Oswego State's first lead of the second half came when Ryan Sheridan (Sr., Blauvelt, N.Y.) hit his fourth three-pointer of the game with 13:30 left in the contest for a 43-42 advantage. The shot started a 10-2 run that gave the Lakers' control for good.

Plattsburgh broke out to a 27-18 lead, its biggest of the game, with an 8-0 run midway through the first half that contained a pair of three-pointers. The Cardinals also out-rebounded the Lakers, 17-6, in the first half.

However, Sheridan hit two three-pointers and scored the final eight Laker points of the first half to help cut the lead to 33-30 at the break. Sheridan hit all three of his long-range attempts in the first half, helping the Lakers shoot 7-for-14 from beyond the arc.

In the second half, Sean Michele (Sr., East Rochester, N.Y.) scored 13 of his 16 points, to keep the Lakers in contention until they went on the 10-2 run that created seperation on the scoreboard.

From there, Oswego State stayed in front with free-throw shooting. Plattsburgh was whistled for 17 fouls in the second half, allowing the Lakers to convert 18-of-20 from the free throw line and seal the win. Oswego State hit just one free throw in the opening half.

The Lakers were led by Sheridan's 21 points, while Michele hit four three-pointers of his own and added 16 points and Chad Burridge (Sr., Hannibal, N.Y.) chipped in 13. Michele added four assists as well, while Burridge and Hayden Ward (Jr., Montauk, N.Y.) led the way with six rebounds each.

Oswego State continues its northern swing with a 4 p.m. tip-off at Potsdam on Saturday.
