Elizabeth Prewitt's basket with one second remaining in overtime lifted No. 18 Puget Sound over No. 16 Whitman 73-71 in a battle of unbeaten NWC teams. Three other teams also picked up their first loss of the season, leaving us with 10 teams with perfect records.

The battle for first place in the NWC lived up to its billing in a game featuring 15 lead changes and eight ties. Casey Poe's layup with 27 seconds left in regulation gave Whitman a 61-59 lead. After both teams missed two free throws on their next possession, Samone Jackson got Puget Sound even by making two free throws with seven seconds left. The Loggers rolled out to a 71-69 lead with 13 seconds remaining in overtime before Whitman's Chelsi Brewer was fouled shooting a three-pointer. Brewer made all three shots to tie the game at 71 and set the stage for Prewitt's game winner. Puget Sound ran the clock down to one second before finding Prewitt for the winning shot. Box score
Jackson scored 22 points for Puget Sound (14-1, 6-0) which now has wins over Whitman and No. 20 George Fox.
The only team to beat Puget Sound this year also picked up its first loss on Saturday. Savannah Hight scored 28 points and Kristen Lye added a double-double for Texas Lutheran as the Bulldogs topped No. 12 Trinity (Texas), 85-78. Micah Weaver scored 26 points in 25 points for the Tigers but it wasn't enough to overcome Texas Lutheran, which seized control with a 23-8 third quarter. Texas Lutheran improves to 12-3, 4-0 in the SCAC while Trinity slips to 14-1, 3-1 in conference. Box score
TCNJ held No. 8 Montclair State to 25 percent shooting (16-for-63), including 3-for-24 from three, and the Lions dumped the Red Hawks, 49-40. Nikki Schott had a double-double for TCNJ (13 points, 11 rebounds) while Sage Bennett was the only Red Hawk to reach double-figures. The loss sets up a first-place showdown on Wednesday night when Montclair State (14-1, 7-1 NJAC) hosts Kean (10-5, 7-1 NJAC). Recap
Albright won its first-place battle with No. 22 Messiah 85-82 in a game of runs. After Messiah scored the first basket, Albright went on a 16-0 run to take the lead. The Falcons countered with a 31-9 second quarter and took a 46-35 lead into the half. But the Lions went on a 21-6 run from the end of the third quarter into the fourth, and then pulled away down the stretch. Alysha Lofton had 31 points and seven rebounds for Albright (12-4, 7-0 MAC Commonwealth) while Gillian Glackin had 14 and 11 for Messiah (15-1, 6-1).

Outside the Top 25, FDU-Florham rolled over DeSales 83-51 in the battle for first place in the MAC Freedom. Seniors Alyssa McDonough (19 points, 15 rebounds) and Rachel Groom (13 points, 10 rebounds) led the way for the Devils (13-2, 4-0 MACF).
Occidental won its fifth straight game and moved alone into first place in the SCIAC with a 74-66 victory over Chapman. Triana Anderson had 22 points and 11 boards for the Tigers, who are a half-game in front of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
Texas-Dallas pushed its winning streak to 11 games with a 79-47 walkover at LeTourneau. Micaela Gonzalez tallied 21 points and five steals for the Comets (13-2, 8-0 ASC).
The CCIW remained knotted in a three-way tie with Wheaton (Ill.) beating Millikin, Illinois Wesleyan handling Carthage and Augustana cruising past Carroll.
Bernadette Launi scored 20 points for Catholic and the Cardinals pushed Moravian out of the three-way tie for first in the early stages of the Landmark Conference race. Catholic improved to 13-2, 4-0 in conference, placing them in a tie with No. 3 Scranton.
