After losing its first three games to start the season, Gettysburg picked up its first win at No 23 Franklin and Marshall in the conference opener for both teams. Meanwhile the College of New Rochelle won its first game altogether over St. Elizabeth in a battle of first year men's programs.
Gettysburg (1-3, 1-0 Centennial) jumped out to a 14-point lead at Franklin and Marshall (2-1, 0-1) by holding the Diplomats to more turnovers (seven) than made shots (six) in the first half. Julius Stoma scored 13 points for F&M in the second half, including the game-tying bucket with 32 seconds left. Pete Christ responded with a three-pointer with four ticks left to give the Bullets the win.
New Rochelle defeated St. Elizabeth 93-87 in a battle between Division III's newest men's programs. Hunter Schenkel notched the first double-double in CNR program history (23 points, 18 rebounds) while Cameron Tucker scored 23 for the Eagles. Both schools are playing their first season of varsity men's basketball.
Capital (4-0) stayed undefeated and dealt No. 8 Ohio Wesleyan (2-1) its first loss as the Crusaders beat the Battling Bishops 82-76. Led by Curt Geise (11 points), Capitals' reserves outscored Ohio Wesleyan's reserves 24-8. Ben Simpson posted 20 points and 12 rebounds for the Battling Bishops.
Salisbury used its length and zone defense to upset No. 16 Virginia Wesleyan, 68-60. The Sea Gulls (4-0) have won four of their last six meetings with the Marlins (3-1), with Wyatt Smith (13 points, 12 rebounds) leading the way this season. In another battle between 2016 NCAA tournament teams, No. 25 Susquehanna edged Lycoming 75-74 on a Ryan Traub three-pointer with 25 seconds left. Traub scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Crusaders (3-1).
Vincent Pace came off the bench for No. 5 Tufts and the Jumbos topped MIT, 74-66. Pace, who was injured in the opening minutes of the NCAA tournament last season, scored 15 points for Tufts (3-0).
Outside the Top 25, Aldin Medunjanin flirted with a triple-double (27 points, eight rebounds, seven assists) but it wasn't enough, as Ithaca beat the Thoroughbreads 89-85. Gabe Perez-Ronchetta had 22 points for the Bombers (3-1) who led wire-to-wire. Misericordia (4-0) continued its impressive start with a 90-85 win at Lebanon Valley, and Rowan opened NJAC play with a 101-100 win at defending champions Stockton. Jeff Haddock scored 22 points off the bench for the Profs (3-1, 1-0 NJAC).
Greenville scored 103 points in the second half and 178 overall as the Panthers beat Lincoln Christian 178-125 in a Grinnell-like performance. Seven playes scored double figures for the Panthers, who shot 37-for-72 from three. Box score

Tuesday night's slate had five games pitting 2016 NCAA tournament teams against each other, with No. 4 Thomas More and No. 5 Scranton picking up lopsided wins and Stockton notching a key vistory against NJAC rival Rowan.
Thomas More easily handled Maryville (Tenn.) 71-42 in a rematch of Sweet 16 opponents that nearly produced the same score. The Saints (2-0) outscored the Scots 39-16 during the middle two periods and Thomas More held a 44-20 scoring advantage in the paint.
Scranton scored the first 23 points of the game and overpowered Cabrini 83-23. The 60-point margin of victory is the Lady Royals' largest since they beat another CSAC team (Immaculata) by 74 in 2004.
No. 19 Bowdoin avoided a repeat of last season's loss to University of New England as the Polar Bears posted a 87-63 victory on the Nor'easters' home court. Bowdoin (2-0) turned 22 UNE turnovers into 24 points. No. 20 Mary Washington scored the first nine points of overtime and held on to beat Lyncburg 69-59. The Eagles improved to 4-0 with three wins over ODAC foes.
The top four NJAC teams from a year ago opened conference play against each other on Tuesday night. Stockton got 37 points and 33 rebounds combined from Sasha Williams and Najha Treadwell, and the Ospreys defended their home court in a 72-68 victory over Rowan. Four of Montclair State's starters scored double figures and the 16th ranked Red Hawks won at Kean, 62-53.
In a game that featured 51 fouls and 63 free throw attempts, Bethel topped No. 12 UW-River Falls 89-85 in overtime. Kalli Zimmerman had 20 points for the Royals (3-1). UW-Whitewater shot 48 percent from the field (20-for-42) and the Warhawks pulled away from Illinois Wesleyan in the fourth quarter for a 66-55 win.
