Denison went on a 43-12 run to end Wabash's flagging NCAA Tournament hopes.

Larry Farmer scored 28 points, 23 of them in the second half as Denison rallied from a 39-26 deficit. Farmer scored the game's next 17 points by himself to give Denison the lead and the Big Red went on to advance to the NCAC semifinals.

Johnson and Wales fell to Anna Maria in the GNAC quarterfinals, 64-63. Lamonte Thomas finished with 35 points, but couldn't get the game-winner to fall in the closing seconds. Thomas finished his career with 2,740 points, fourth in Division III men's basketball history.

Bethany survived its first-ever game as a ranked team, defeating Waynesburg 82-69. The Bison played just eight players, one of them for just one minute, in the victory.

York (Pa.) scored the last 12 points of the game, seven of them by Paul Kouvaris, keeping Jeff Gamber's coaching career going with a 65-61 win against Frostburg State in the first round of the CAC tournament. Cameron Cook went 7-for-8 from three-point range as sixth-seeded Hood won at third-seeded Wesley to advance and will play at No. 2 Mary Washington.

Shenandoah recorded a big upset in its final USA South men's basketball tournament, as the seventh-seeded Hornets knocked off second-seeded North Carolina Wesleyan 72-68. Shenandoah improved to just 5-21 on the season.

No. 6 Cabrini advanced to the CSAC final for the fourth consecutive season, as Cory Lemons scored 23 points and had 11 assists in an 87-68 win against Immaculata. The Cavaliers will face second-seeded Keystone on Friday night.

Other NCAC quarterfinal games were just as interesting. No. 17 Wittenberg rallied from a seven-point deficit in the second half to get past Kenyon 73-61. Justin Hallowell scored 25 points on 7-for-12 shooting, including four three-pointers in a 59-51 win against DePauw. Tim Brady scored 33 points and led four scorers in double figures in Ohio Wesleyan's 96-86 win against Hiram.

Sixth-seeded Simpson knocked off third seed Dubuque in double overtime behind 28 points and 10 rebounds from Zack Barragan. He played all 50 minutes of the game, one which starting center Cornelius Mosby missed. The Storm advances to play at No. 2 seed Buena Vista in the IIAC semifinals. Fifth seed Luther won at fourth-seeded Central in the other first round game and will play at Coe.

In pre-tournament action, Kyle McAndrews hit three free throws with one second left and Pomona-Pitzer knocked off its 11th-ranked cross-campus rival Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 51-50. No. 22 Wheaton (Ill.) rolled over 18th-ranked Augustana 74-44, cementing Wheaton as the No. 2 seed in the CCIW with a game on Friday night against third-seeded Illinois Wesleyan. That game will be broadcast by D3sports.com.

Tuesday's women's wrap

No. 11 William Paterson opened the second half on a 21-7 run and used it to get past Rutgers-Newark 56-49. The Pioneers were without the services of All-American BriAnna Lucas but April Smith had 17 points and 17 rebounds. No. 24 Kean won the other NJAC semifinal game behind a combined 40 points and 18 rebounds from Naimah Clemons and Brittanie Payne.

No. 23 UW-Whitewater rolled out to a 50-18 halftime lead and had little trouble with UW-Superior in a 92-55 win. The Warhawks hit their first six three-pointers. No. 21 UW-River Falls advanced out of the first round as well, defeating UW-La Crosse 64-55. River Falls travels to top-seeded UW-Stevens Point, while Eau Claire will host Whitewater.

Cortland State hit 14 three-pointers and pretty much needed them all in beating Geneseo State 70-64 in overtime in the SUNYAC quarterfinals. Brittany Cohen led the Red Dragons with 25 points. Cortland will play at top-seeded Buffalo State in the semifinals Friday, with second-seeded New Paltz and third-seeded Oneonta in the other semi.

Fourth-seeded Capital got past fifth-seeded Baldwin-Wallace 63-54 to reach the OAC semifinals, where they will play Mount Union. Third-seeded Otterbein defeated sixth-seeded Wilmington 71-64. Both lower seeds were playing on a second consecutive night, while the higher seeds had byes.
