ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Oswego State women's basketball team (12-14) struggled offensively, as it saw its season come to an end following a 53-40 loss to Oneonta (17-8) in the SUNYAC quarterfinal round Tuesday night. The Lakers shot 21.6 percent from the floor (11-of-51) in the game, as the Red Dragons held a 17-point halftime lead and never looked back to advance to the next round against New Paltz.

Oneonta opened the contest with a 7-0 run before Meagan Stover's (Jr., Lake George, N.Y.) put-back three minutes into the half gave Oswego State its first points. However, Madison Slagle scored eight of the Red Dragons' points as part of a 10-3 stretch that put Oneonta ahead 17-5 with 12 minutes to play in the stanza.

The Lakers clawed back into the game as Stover hit a three-pointer to bring Oswego State to within three points at 17-14, but went cold from the field making just one basket over the final eight minutes of the half. The Red Dragons took a 35-17 lead into halftime behind 48.3 percent (14-of-29) shooting from the floor.

Oneonta cooled off in the second half, but Oswego State's offensive woes continued as the Laker deficit was never smaller than 11 points late in the contest.

Kayla Ryan (Sr., Schaghticoke, N.Y.) was the only Oswego State player to reach double digits with 10 points to go along with six rebounds. Alyshia Crawford came off the bench to pace the Red Dragons with 13 points, while Samantha Szkotak posted 11 points and Sarah Longto contributed ten boards.

The game marked the end of Kayla Ryan's stellar career at Oswego State. She will graduate ranked third in career points at 1,398, tied for seventh in career steals at 186, ninth in career rebounds at 677, and tied for tenth in career blocks at 57.
