March 14, 2016 Recker named Third Team All-Great Lakes Region Bluffton University senior Thayne Recker (Arlington) earned his second straight All-Great Lakes Region honor after a second consecutive First Team All-Heartland Conference award. Recker, a Third Team honoree this season, and Bergman are the only two D3hoops.com All-Region selections in Bluffton men's basketball history.
March 1, 2016 Recker named First Team All-Heartland Conference Bluffton senior Thayne Recker (Arlington) added another First Team All-Heartland Conference award into his already overflowing trophy case when the All-HCAC men’s basketball team was announced on Tuesday. It marks the second straight season that Recker earned First Team All-HCAC honors. He is just the fifth Beaver and the first since Scott Bergman in 2005-06 to collect consecutive First Team All-HCAC honors.
February 20, 2016 Beavers fall at Hanover despite 31 from Taflinger Things didn’t end the way they started on Saturday as the home team used a 52-26 second-half advantage to erase a 41-28 half-time deficit. The Beavers dropped an 80-67 decision to finish the season with an overall record of 12-13 and 7-11 in the HCAC. The Panthers improved to 14-11 and 12-6 in conference play and they enter the HCAC Tournament as the #3 seed.
February 17, 2016 Bluffton downs Earlham behind 32 points from Rohde The Bluffton University men’s basketball team took to the road for a meeting with the Earlham College Quakers on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016. Backed by a career-high 32 points from junior guard AUSTIN ROHDE (Shelby), the Beavers came out victorious by a score of 80-70.
February 13, 2016 Bluffton routs Anderson on Senior Day The Bluffton University men’s basketball team hosted Anderson University on Saturday, Feb. 13, in an HCAC matchup. The Beavers dominated the second half to defeat Anderson by a score of 84-69 on Senior Day for another tally in the win column.
February 10, 2016 Bluffton falls to rival Defiance 76-72 in OT The crowd turnout was sensational for 'Hop on board' night as money raised from various activities during the games will be used to help junior Adam Hopkins (Wellington/Keystone) as he fights lymphoma. Thanks to everyone who played a part in helping to make the night a success.
