July 1, 2019 Simmons coach lands at CCNY After Simmons decided to disband its women's basketball program, the Sharks' head coach Michael Williams found a new home at City College of New York.
April 5, 2019 Sharks shut down program Simmons University announced that it is discontinuing its basketball program because of inadequate participation. The Sharks went 7-18, 4-8 in the GNAC last season.
February 16, 2019 Stapelfeld Leads Simmons Women's Basketball Comeback in 70-62 Victory over Johnson & Wales BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore guard Cassandra Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) scored 25 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter to help the Simmons University women's basketball team erase an 11-point second-half deficit and come away with a 70-62 victory over visiting Johnson & Wales University this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest at Moore Gymnasium on the campus of Simmons in Boston, Mass. The Sharks finish their season with a 7-18 mark, including 4-8 in league play, while the Wildcats fall to 6-19 and 5-7. 
January 24, 2019 McNamara Leads No. 11 Saint Joseph's (Maine) Women's Basketball over Simmons, 72-45 BOSTON, Mass. – Senior point guard Kelsi McNamara (West Newton, Mass.) scored 19 points to lead the nationally-ranked number 11 Saint Joseph’s College (Maine) women’s basketball team over host Simmons University, 72-45, this evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Moore Gymnasium on the campus of Simmons in Boston, Mass. The Monks, who are ranked the same by both the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association and d3hoops.com, improve to a perfect 18-0 and 6-0 in league play and have won 24 consecutive regular-season contests over conference foes. The Sharks fall to 4-14 and 1-5. 
January 8, 2019 Brandau, Stapelfeld Lead Simmons Women's Basketball over Lasell, 67-56 BOSTON, Mass. – Senior forward Lauren Brandau (Madison, Conn.) and sophomore guard Cassandra Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) combined for 40 points to lead the Simmons University women’s basketball team over visiting Lasell College this evening in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference season opener at Moore Gymnasium in Boston, Mass. The Sharks improve to 4-9 overall and 1-0 in league play, while the Lasers fall to 5-8 and 0-1. 
December 11, 2018 Stapelfeld Pours in 25 to Lead Simmons Women's Basketball over Mount Holyoke, 71-37 BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore guard Cassandra Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) led all scorers with 25 points to fuel the Simmons University women’s basketball team to a 71-37 victory over visiting Mount Holyoke College this evening at Moore Gymnasium in Boston, Mass. The Sharks win their second straight game and improve to 3-7 on the season, while the Lyons fall to 0-11.
