December 30, 2025 Sanchez Powers Eastern Conn. to Title WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – After a comfortable first-round win over Penn College of Technology Monday evening in the first round of the Eastern Holiday Invitational men’s basketball tournament, Eastern Connecticut State University faced a real test in Nichols College in Tuesday’s championship game, finally prevailing, 77-68, to post its third title (second straight) in the five-year history of the tournament.

December 7, 2025 Eighteen-Point Wins Propel Eastern Conn. to Title NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Julian Sanchez (Willimantic) came off the bench to lead four double-figure scorers with a game-high 21 points and the Eastern Connecticut State University men’s basketball team committed a season-low nine turnovers as the Warriors won the Ed Hockenbury Classic with a 73-55 victory over host Norwich University Sunday afternoon at Andrews Gymnasium.

Advances to Hock Classic Final NORTHFIELD, Vt.  –  Senior forward Jalen Hamblin (West Hartford) and senior guard Dominick Dao (Terryville) combined for 25 second-half points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field  to help the Warriors protect a 12-point halftime lead and carry the Eastern Connecticut State University men’s basketball team to a 74-56 non-conference victory over Western New England University in the first round of the Ed Hockenbury Classic Saturday evening at Andrews Gymnasium.

Survives to Win LEC Opener DANBURY, Conn. --  Senior forward Julian Sanchez (Willimantic) had 14 points and eight rebounds in the first half to help the Eastern Connecticut State University men’s basketball team to a ten-point halftime lead and it was (just) enough to carry the Warriors to a 78-73 victory over Western Connecticut State University in the Little East Conference opener for both teams Wednesday evening at Feldman Arena.  
November 25, 2025 Dao Reaches 1,000 Points in Eastern Conn. Win WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – Junior guard Ray Carter (Springfield, MA) scored 15 of his season-high 21 points that set the tone in a 51-point first half and senior forward Julian Sanchez (Willimantic) came off the bench for 18 points, six rebounds and two blocks to power the Eastern Connecticut State University men’s basketball team to a 95-82 non-conference victory over Connecticut College Tuesday evening at Francis E. Geissler Gymnasium.
