HARTFORD, Conn. -- Junior Elsa Daulerio recorded her seventh double-double of the season and the Bates women's basketball team won their third straight NESCAC game with a 63-46 victory over Trinity Friday night.

The Bobcats (13-8, 3-4 NESCAC) turned in a superlative defensive performance, holding the number-one scoring team in the NESCAC to their lowest scoring output of the season. The Bantams (16-6, 5-3 NESCAC) shot only 23 percent from the floor while Bates finished the night at just under 45% from the field. It's Trinity's worst shooting performance in a game since the 2017-18 season.

The score stood tied at 15 at the end of the first quarter, but junior Danielle Adams (Southborough, Mass.) put the Bobcats ahead for good at 19-17 with a layup on an assist from sophomore Mya Hicks (Ann Arbor, Mich.) with 8:32 left in the second quarter.

Bates led by two at 27-25 with 4:13 left before the intermission before back-to-back buckets from Daulerio (Harpswell, Maine) gave them a 31-25 halftime lead.

The Bobcats never looked back, leading by as many as 21 in the second half. Daulerio finished with a game-high 16 points on 8-15 shooting and a game-high 13 rebounds. Junior Ava James (Bethesda, Md.) added 10 points on 4-8 shooting, four rebounds, three blocked shots, and one steal. Senior captain Alexandra Long (Newtown, Pa.) also tallied 10 points, shooting 3-6 from the floor while dishing out a game-high six assists. Meanwhile, sophomore Sarah Hughes (Rumson, N.J.) chipped in eight points on 3-5 shooting, five rebounds, and three assists.

Olivia Vick paced Trinity with 13 points on 4-13 shooting and Theresa Twardosky added 10 points 4-12 shooting off the bench. The rest of the Bantams made a combined seven field goals on the night.

Bates moved the ball well on offense, tallying 19 assists. It's their most assists in a NESCAC game so far this season. Daulerio has now recorded a double-double in five of her past seven games.

The Bobcats are back in action Sunday when they visit Wesleyan for a 2 p.m. tip.
