William Paterson Women's Basketball Drops Home NJAC Game to Rowan

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's basketball team (13-7, 9-4 NJAC) was defeated, 92-64, by Rowan (13-7, 9-4 NJAC) in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game Feb. 1 at the Sports and Recreation Center.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • With four minutes remaining in the second quarter, a 3-pointer by senior Brianna Smith sparked a 9-0 run to give WP a 33-31 edge.
  • The two sides were even at 41-41 with 8:50 on the clock in the third frame before the Profs went on a 29-5 run to cap the quarter and go ahead by 24 (70-46).
  • Rowan maintained its double-digit lead and secured the 92-64 road win.   


INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Junior Renee Wells led the Pioneers with 16 points while adding two boards, a steal and a team-best four assists.
  • Senior Victoria Palladino had 11 points, a team-high eight rebounds, three steals and two assists.
  • Smith finished with 11 points.

 
UP NEXT:

  • William Paterson will take on Rutgers-Newark Wednesday, Feb. 5, in a 6:00 p.m. road conference game.
