DePauw Extends Win Streak to Seven and Stays Unbeaten in NCAC

Gambier, Ohio - DePauw scored the game's first 13 points and never trailed on the way to a 76-38 North Coast Athletic Conference win at Kenyon. The Tigers improved to 11-4 overall and 5-0 in the NCAC, while the Owls dropped to 2-13 overall and 0-5 in the conference.

Moira McGinley opened the scoring with four free throws before Riley Mont and Ava Hassel buried threes and Mont hit another for a 13-0 lead. Kenyon's first points came with 4:03 left in the opening quarter and the Tigers took a 23-7 lead into the second period. 

The Owls were back within 11 early in the second before the Tigers took a 33-18 lead into the halftime.

DePauw sealed the win by opening the third with seven straight to push the lead to 40-18. The Tigers led by as many as 40 in the final two minutes.

Hassel led DePauw with 13 points with Ainsley Boras adding 12. Mont and Boras each grabbed six rebounds with Hassel, Lily Huntzinger and Hannah Lach each totaling two assists.

Katherin Organ paced Kenyon with eight points with Alyssa Horsley hauling down eight rebounds. Susannah Zimmerman dished out three assists.

The Tigers shot 39.7 percent from the field to Kenyon's 35.7 percent, but DePauw knocked in 9-of-19 from beyond the arc and outscored the Owls at the line, 17-2. DePauw held a 43-22 rebounding edge and committed just eight turnovers to Kenyon's 21.

DePauw returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 22, when it hosts #18/19 Ohio Wesleyan in a battle of the last two unbeaten teams in conference play.
