Knox Overpowers Lady Blues Despite Career-High Performances

GALESBURG, ILL-  The Illinois College women's basketball team dropped a tough conference game Tuesday night at Knox College, 84-69. Despite some impressive offensive efforts for several Lady Blues, Knox moved to 8-6 overall for the season and 3-2 in conference play. IC moves to 5-11 and 2-5 in conference play.

The first half of play saw seven lead changes as both teams went into the half 42-42. The Lady Blues shot 60% in the second quarter to keep it square, but Knox continued a strong 2nd quarter with a dominant 3rd quarter that ended up being the difference in the contest.

Knox shot 68% from the field in the 3rd quarter to take a nine-point lead heading into the 4th quarter where they held IC to just nine made field goals in the 2nd half.

The Lady Blues showcased strong offensive performances, highlighted by Jayln Patterson's career-high 27 points on 13-21 shooting. Ashlyn Wightman recorded another impressive double-double with 14 points, 12 rebounds, and a career-high-tying six blocks, while Raegen Stringer contributed a career-high 12 assists for Illinois College.
