York (Pa.) Reaches the Century Mark against Eastern on Saturday

YORK, PA – The York College women's basketball team recorded their first MAC Commonwealth win of the year with a 100-44 victory over Eastern University on Saturday in York.
The 100 points were a season high for the Spartans as they had all 14 players who saw action, score.
York improves to 8-5 overall and 1-1 in the MAC Commonwealth. Eastern falls to 1-12 overall and 0-2 in the league. The Spartans improve to 5-2 at home this season.
 
How It Happened
• The Spartans got off to a fast start as they raced out to a 15-2 lead with just under five minutes left in the first quarter. The Eagles halted the Spartan run with a Jeriyah Johnson jumper but York hit back-to-back threes to kick start an 8-2 run as the Spartans took a 23-8 lead after one period of play. York shot 62.5% (10-for-16) from the floor in the quarter.
• The Eagles scored five of the first nine points of the second quarter, cutting York's lead to 27-13. Trinity Upton's bucket at the 7:49 mark would be the last time Eastern scored in the quarter. The Spartans finished the half on a 24-0 run over the final 6:26 of the quarter. The Spartans were 10-for-12 from the floor in the run including 3-for-4 from three. Conversely, the Eagles were 0-for-10 from the floor including 0-for-4 from the free throw line with three turnovers as the Spartans took a 51-13 lead to the break.
• The Eagles came out of the half and hit the Spartans with a 13-4 run, cutting the Spartan lead to 55-26. York rebounded to rip off a 16-3 run to take a 71-29 lead after 30 minutes of play.
• Eastern scored seven of the first 11 points of the fourth quarter but the Spartan offensive buzz saw continued as an 18-2 run pushed the lead to 93-38 with 2:55 left. The Spartans would get to the 100 point mark in their final offensive possession of the game.
