GLASSBORO, NJ -- Jess King had a game-high 18 points for the 22nd-ranked Elizabethtown College women's basketball team as they went on the road to begin 2025 with a win, 69-58, at Rowan.

Elizabethtown was hot out of the gates, shooting over 50 percent from the floor in the first quarter. The Jays were 9-for-17 from the field as they raced out to a 23-10 lead.

After Rowan scored the opening bucket, Etown went on a 9-0 run to sprint in front of the Profs. Jess King knocked down an elbow jumper to tie the game 2-2 and then ahead 7-2, she came up with the steal near midcourt and went the other way for two.

The Profs had cut the lead to seven when Lindsay Boyd knocked down a three from the left wing and Grace O'Connor's driving layup was good to put the game back at a 13-point spread heading into the second.

Rowan held Elizabethtown to under 30 percent in the second quarter, but could only knock off three points of their deficit as they trailed the Jays at the half, 33-23. DaniRae Renno had a team-high nine points and seven rebounds. King was a perfect 4-for-4 shooting as EC dominated the painted area through the first 20 minutes, 22-4.

Like the first quarter, the Blue Jays came out of the locker room focused on maintaining control of the game and they were able to do just that, outscoring Rowan 22-13 in the third quarter.

Elizabethtown was able to hold leading scorer Kate Herlihy below her season average, limiting her to 11 for the game.

The Jays also took care of business at the foul line, hitting 13-of-14 attempts.

Summer McNulty added 10 points and Makenna Mummert was 5-for-5 from the foul line.

Elizabethtown travels to Scranton on Wednesday, January 8.
