Lynchburg, VA - The N.C. Wesleyan women's basketball team struggled to overcome a slow start, falling to ODAC foe Lynchburg 47-76 on Sunday afternoon. The Bishops found themselves trailing by nine points at the end of the first quarter and were unable to recover throughout the rest of the game.

Senior Nadia Simmons led the way once again for the Bishops with an impressive seventeen points and seven rebounds. The Henderson, NC native shot 6-14 from the field, showcasing her ability to knock down shots from any part of the floor. Stretch forward Anaya Hall also made valuable contributions, grabbing five rebounds and scoring six points in a solid performance inside.
Despite the strong efforts from Simmons and Hall, the Bishops faced difficulty shooting the ball, finishing the game just 25% from the field and only three made three-pointers. Lynchburg, on the other hand, shot over 40% from the floor. NCWU's defense did have some bright spots, forcing fifteen turnovers and converting those into thirteen points off turnovers.
