The Baruch women's basketball team recorded an impressive win at Ramapo College in a rematch of last season's ECAC Division III championship game.
The visiting Bearcats jumped out to a 29-25 halftime lead and outscored the Road Runners from the New Jersey Athletic Conference 27-15 in the third quarter en route to winning by 21 points (65-44) on Wednesday night in Mahwah, New Jersey,
The team defense came up big scoring 40 points off 33 turnovers and limited the home team to just 15 field goals the entire game, including only one field goal in the fourth quarter.
For the second time in three games this early season, Mia Castillo scored 40 points, along with eight rebounds, five assists, and four steals. She nearly outscored tonight's opponent, who scored only 44 total points.
Elissa Leung scored 13 points and Precious Mitchell grabbed six rebounds as the Bearcats avenged last season's ECAC championship regional loss at neutral site Gallaudet University in Washington, DC.
The team will travel back to Washington, DC on Friday to compete at the Pablo Coto Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Marymount University.
