JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College women's basketball team used a balanced attack to overpower Fontbonne, 70-29, in a non-conference contest on Wednesday at Sherman Gymnasium.
IC improved to 2-3 on the season while the Griffins dropped to 0-2.

The Lady Blues sprinted out to an 11-3 lead in the first five minutes of play and never looked back. IC outscored Fontbonne 18-3 in the opening quarter. The second quarter was much of the same as the Lady Blues took a 38-14 advantage into intermission.
IC's biggest offensive outburst of the night came in the third quarter as they outscored the Griffins 23-8 and cruised home with the victory.
In all, 21 Lady Blues saw action and 14 scored at least one point. Jayln Patterson led IC with 13 points and eight rebounds while Aubrey Kietzman added 11 and a team-high four assists. Ashlyn Wightman grabbed six rebounds while Shaili Betts added five.
IC scored 40 of its 70 points in the paint and forced 26 Fontbonne turnovers.
