ALBANY, N.Y.— The Keuka College Women's Basketball team lost an Empire 8 matchup to Russell Sage College 70-46 on Friday night.

The Wolves got on the board early with a layup from Mary Cotter (Hershey, Pa. / Hershey). Sydney Brown would hit all three of her three-pointers in the first quarter as the Wolves held onto a 17-12 lead after the first.

The Gators fought back into the game and took the lead. They later used an 11-0 run to widen the gap over the Wolves. Ellen Lavonas (Rochester, N.Y. / Brighton) stopped the run in transition, being assisted by Caiden Crego on the basket, but the Gators were too much as they scored 30 points in the frame. Russell Sage continued their comeback and would lead 42-32 at the break.

After a Gator three-pointer, Katie Deatherage (Canandaigua, N.Y. / Marcus Whitman) would make a layup to get the Wolves their first score of the half. While Russell Sage continued their offensive success, Sophia Babcock (Oswego, N.Y. / Oswego) found Meghan Ellis (Cobleskill, N.Y. / Cobleskill-Richmondville) for a jumper to get the Wolves back within 10 points, but Sage added to their lead. The Gators would take their lead going into the fourth 55-40.

A 10-2 run in the Gator's favor would seal the deal in the fourth quarter to give Russell Sage College the win. The final score of the Empire 8 meeting was 70-46.
