Anchorwomen Down Babson, 53-48, in Rematch of Last Season's Elite 8 Contest

Providence, R.I.—Fifth-year guard Olivia Middleton (Barrington, R.I.) recorded a team-high 14 points as No. 5 Rhode Island College defeated Babson, 53-48, at Staake Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchorwomen went on an 8-0 run in the first quarter, with five points from junior guard Madison Medbury (Scituate, R.I.).
 
• The Beavers would hit a quartet of three-point shots to regain a slim lead in the second quarter, but a subsequent, 9-0, run from RIC would give the Anchorwomen a three-point lead, 30-27, going into halftime.
 
• Babson senior guard Kelly Walsh (Goffstown, N.H.) would score 12 of her 20 points in the third quarter to give the Beavers a two-point, 44-42, lead after 30 minutes.
 
• Middleton would score six points in the fourth quarter, including going 4-for-5 from the free throw line, to lead the Anchorwomen past the Beavers in a rematch of last season's Elite 8 matchup.
 
• Fifth-year center Neleesha Meunier (Leominster, Mass) tallied 10 points and 11 rebounds for her first double-double this season.
