Women's Hoops 3-0 For First Time in Five Years as Bobcats Coast Past SUNY Potsdam, 58-35

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -- Bates College is now 3-0 to start a season for the first time since 2018-19 as the Bobcats, behind double-double performances from both Elsa Daulerio and Morgan Kennedy, breezed to a 58-35 victory over SUNY Potsdam (2-1) in a neutral contest hosted by Plattsburgh State University.

The point total by the Bears marks the fewest permitted by Bates since yielding 35 last January 8th in a 59-35 NESCAC defeat of Connecticut College.

Never trailing in the game, the garnet and white owned a healthy 14-3 advantage after the initial 10:00 of play. Bates would grow that lead to 16 on a pair of occasions in the following period, the second of which came with 2:29 remaining before the break as a Sarah Hughes fast-break layup put the 'Cats up, 26-10.

Coming out of the intermission carrying a cushion of 28-15, the Bates surplus never dipped below double-digits the rest of the way. Daulerio's lay-in with 3:41 left in regulation inflated the Bobcats' lead to a high-water mark of 25 at 56-31.

Kennedy, collecting her first collegiate double-double, topped all scorers with her 22 points in 36 overall minutes. The senior shot 10-of-17 from the floor while grabbing 11 boards in the effort. She also dished four assists.

Daulerio, with her 15 points and 10 rebounds, records her second-career double-double. The sophomore center previously put together a 12-point, 11-rebound effort in an 84-50 win at UMaine-Farmington last season (Jan. 17).

The Bobcats now look to make it four-straight this Tuesday with a non-conference home game vs. the University of Southern Maine. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. in Alumni Gym.
