Millikin Women Roll Past Otterbein

Playing for the first time ever in women's basketball, 19th ranked Millikin University rolled over Otterbein University 86-43 at the DePauw University Invite in Greencastle, Indiana on November 18.

 

The Big Blue dominated from the start jumping out to a 19-0 lead in the first five minutes of the game. Millikin was up 29-10 at the end of the first quarter and went into the locker room at halftime with a 47-20 advantage.

 

Millikin shot 50 percent (31-62) from the field and made 9-20 (45 percent) from three-point range. Otterbein was held to 28 percent (15-54) shooting

and committed 26 turnovers. Millikin won the rebounding battle 40-27.

 

Elyce Knudsen led Millikin with 23 points, five rebounds and five steals. Bailey Coffman added 22 points going 4-4 from three-point range and 6-8 from the field. The Big Blue got 32 points off the bench led by Bella Dudley with nine, Kyleigh Block with seven and Christina Rice with six.

 

Maizie King and Kyla Irby each had six points to lead Otterbein.

 

Millikin is now 3-0 on the season and will face the host DePauw University on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET. The Tigers defeated Calvin College 76-48.
