HOW IT HAPPENED

Gabby Krystofiak got the scoring going for the Hornets as the junior made the first two free-throws of the game, and the Hornets would not look back.  Terese Greene would catch fire and rattle of three straight baskets to increase the lead to 8-0 early in the first quarter.  As the clock ticked down, the Hornets would increase the lead to 11-0, before the Marlins would finally get on the board with a jumper.  However, the Hornet offense and defense was too hot to handle, as Shenandoah would end the quarter on a 7-1 run, and take an 18-3 lead into the second quarter.

The Hornets started the second quarter just as they did for the first, making shots.  Shawnise Campbell and Terese Greene had a nice two-man game going on as the duo would combine for the first eight points of the stanza.  As the Hornet defense continued to shut down the Marlins' offense, Sydney Shepos would add the final basket of the half, and Shenandoah would take a comfortable 30-10 lead into the break.

The hot shooting from the Hornets continued into the second half as the Marlins did not have an answer for Shenandoah.  A Kayla Maxson layup would increase the Hornets' lead to the biggest margin of the quarter, as the basket increased the lead to 27.  In the fourth quarter, the Hornets did not let off the gas as Shenandoah outscored the Marlins 19-8 to secure the 68-32 win.
