Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (11/11/2023) - Gwynedd Mercy University (3-0) played the final game of the annual Gwynedd Mercy Tip-Off Tournament hosting Penn State Abington. (0-2) where the Griffins went 2-0 in the tournament and defeated the Nittany Lions today 90-63. Senior guard Lynzie Eggers (Washington Township, N.J.) was two points shy of tying a career-high in points as she finished today 11-23 from the field with 30 points, four rebounds, and six assists. Senior forward Natalie O'Neill (Philadelphia, Pa.) finished with her first double-double of the 2023-2024 season with 14 points on 5-7 from the field as well as 13 rebounds and a game-high four steals. 
 
Griffin Highlights:

• Senior guard Ava Casale (Washington Township, N.J) continued her hot start to the season with 18 points (7-16 from the floor). To go along with Casale's 18 points she also hauled in two rebounds and three assists.
• Gwynedd Mercy University was only leading Penn State Abington 43-39 heading into halftime, however, the Griffins picked up the intensity on the defensive side of the ball in the second half as they held the Nittany Lions to only 24 total points and 9-43 from the field in the third and fourth quarter. 
• Gwynedd Mercy dominated in the paint not only outrebounding Penn State Abington 55-45 but also scoring 36 points in the paint compared to the Nittany Lions 12. 

 
Gwynedd Mercy's next game is the annual Battle of 309 as the team travels to Arcadia University for a 6:00 p.m. tipoff.
