Nicole Mallard Hits 1,000 Career Points as Rowan Takes Down Rutgers-Camden, 83-43

GLASSBORO, NJ -- Nicole Mallard netted 11 points, including the 1,000th of her career to highlight Rowan's 83-43 New Jersey Athletic Conference victory over Rutgers-Camden Wednesday night at Esbjornson Gymnasium.

Mallard becomes the 18th player in program history to eclipse the career milestone as the senior hit a three-pointer at top of the arc with 1:45 left in the 2nd quarter to hit the mark. Savanna Holt also added 11 points and Grace Marshall kicked in 10 to help the Profs to its sixth win in a row.

Rowan shot over 60% in the first quarter, storming out to a 28-6 after the first 10 minutes. Holt led the attack with a trio of three-pointers in the stanza. After taking a 37-17 lead into halftime, the Profs hit on 45% in the third and would limit the Scarlet Raptors to just eight points in the final quarter en route to the victory.

Rahzirah Blocker led Rutgers-Camden with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Teammate Jalissa Pitts contributed 15 points and eight caroms.

The home team held a 57-43 rebound advantage, led by a career-high eight boards from Shayla Johnson, who also tied a personal best with eight points.

The Profs hit the road on Saturday where the team will battle first-place Kean in a 3 p.m. tip.
