WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Carroll University women's basketball team handled business on Thursday night in Van Male Field House against St. Norbert College, winning 71-43. Brooke Foster exploded for a season-high 19 points on 7-17 shooting while making 5-13 three-pointers. Kate Christian put up a 13-point, six assist, and five steal night as well.

The Pioneers (6-5) stay perfect at home in 2022 and move to their 11th straight win in Van Male. Carroll took off after a slow first quarter, scoring 20 in the second quarter and 25 in the third, highlighted by 6-14 shooting from beyond the arc. Carroll finished over 44% from the floor and over 31% from three on the night. The Pios outscored the Green Knight bench 26-3, led by nine points from Katie Rohner. Carroll forced 28 turnovers on 15 steals and came away with 28 points on those turnovers.

Foster started the scoring with a three-pointer on Carroll's second possession, but Carroll went a little cold and didn't score again until the 5:22 mark of the first quarter. SNC grabbed their first and only lead of the evening on a 5-0 run before the media timeout. Olivia Rangel's free throws at 3:56 sparked a 10-1 run the remainder of the quarter, fueled in part by three-pointers from Foster and Megan Madsen. Rangel, Foster, and Christian forced St. Norbert to call an early timeout to start the second quarter after their 6-0 run in the period. Natalie Gricius pushed the lead to over 15 with a three-pointer with 5:07 left. St. Norbert pushed back but Carroll still ended the first half up 12.

Foster and Christian combined for an 8-0 run as the second half began to give Carroll the 20-point margin. Foster knocked down a mid-range jumper with 5:49 left to force another St. Norbert timeout. Carroll finished the third up 25, but SNC cut it to 17 with 5:52 left in the game. Christian got in on the three-point contest with a knockdown jumper to bring Carroll back up by 20. Carroll added eight more points and shut out the Green Knights in the final four minutes to secure the victory.

The Pioneers turn around quickly and head to Beloit on Friday, December 30. The Pioneers have not played Beloit since their last season in the Midwest Conference in 2015-16.
