Women's Basketball Defeats Kalamazoo In 18-Point Victory

KALAMAZOO, Michigan - December 7, 2022 - The Hiram College women's basketball team defeated Kalamazoo, 59-41, on Wednesday night in a game where Hiram held the lead for the majority of the game.

Hiram led 34-15 at halftime and 54-26 after three quarters.

Hiram shot 33.8 percent overall in the game compared to 30.9 percent by Kalamazoo. Hiram led in rebounds with 44 compared to Kalamazoo's 42. The Terriers also played well on the defensive end, forcing 26 turnovers and scoring 22 of its 59 points off those turnovers.

Maddie Rakestraw (14) led the Terriers with 11 points in 24 minutes.

Lizzy Scharer (25) led the team in assists with 5.

Look out for the Terriers next time as they face off against Kent State on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Kent State University.
