CHICAGO, Ill. – The St. Olaf College women's basketball team completed a 2-0 showing at the North Park Tip-Off Tournament by defeating the host Vikings, 62-48, on Saturday at North Park Gymnasium.

For the second game in a row, seniors Rachel Kelly and Grace Hegland, as well as sophomore Paige Yagodinski, were in double figures in scoring for St. Olaf (2-0), which held North Park (1-1) to 27.7 percent shooting (18-for-65) in the win. The Vikings had scored 91 points the day before in a win over Beloit College.

With the win, the Oles moved to 2-0 for the first time to start a season since starting the 2013-14 season with back-to-back wins over Colorado College and Occidental College. St. Olaf trailed by just 5:29 over the two games in Chicago.

Despite being limited to 15 minutes due to foul trouble, Kelly scored a game-high 15 points on 7-for-8 shooting and added five rebounds for St. Olaf, which shot 51.2 percent (22-for-43) from the field to overcome a 26-turnover game. Yagodinski added 14 points, eight rebounds, and three assists, while Hegland contributed 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Vikings hit three of their first five shots over the first two-plus minutes to take a 7-4 lead but were just 2-for-18 the rest of the quarter. Despite the poor shooting, North Park led for more than half of the opening 10 minutes before Hegland and sophomore Sophia Kormann hit layups late in the quarter to give the Oles a 14-11 lead after one.

St. Olaf shot 6-for-11 (54.5 percent) from the field in the second quarter and limited North Park to two field goals (2-for-13, 15.4 percent) in the period to take a 28-20 halftime lead. Yagodinski scored five quick points early in the quarter to stretch the Oles' lead to 19-11 and St. Olaf led by at least six the rest of the quarter.

In the third, the Oles maintained a lead of at least five points for the entire quarter and carried an eight-point lead into the fourth following a three-point play by Kelly at the buzzer. St. Olaf scored the first eight points of the fourth quarter, including a pair of layups by Kelly, to extend its lead to 49-33 and its lead never dipped below eight for the remainder of the game.

St. Olaf hosts the University of Minnesota Morris in its final non-conference game of the regular season on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. at Skoglund Center.
