RADNOR, Pa. – The Salisbury University women's basketball team stretched its latest winning streak to six games in a big way, trouncing the Cabrini Cavaliers 75-40 on Saturday afternoon at Nerny Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After the teams traded a basket each in the opening minutes of the first quarter, the Sea Gulls began their first of several big runs throughout the game. Kaylee Otlowski sank a jumper at the 7:42 mark, followed by a layup half a minute later and an Emily Dilger jumper that made it 8-2 with 6:17 to go.
• Ashley Tutzauer broke up the 6-0 SU push with a layup, but Kylie Webb answered with a three-pointer to set up another 7-0 run, capped by two Abby Wilkinson free throws at the 2:53 mark. Wilkinson and Kolby Brown hit a pair of triples in quick succession toward the end of the first, and the Sea Gull lead stood at 23-7 after one following a Dilger layup.
• Webb opened up the second quarter with back-to-back treys, then Otlowski's jumper finished off a lightning-quick 8-0 run that put Salisbury on top 31-7 at the 8:33 mark.
• The Cavs kept pace through the rest of a back-and-forth second. Syd Kesselman's free throws cut it to 39-20 with 49 seconds until halftime, and Wilkinson made one-of-two to nudge the Sea Gulls back up by 20, 40-20, at the break.
• Otlowski brought the hammer down at the start of the third quarter with a three-point play inside to make it 43-20. The teams traded blows until the 7:32 mark when Dilger dropped in a layup to spark a 7-0 run that ended with a Jada Welbon three, boosting the lead to 52-25 with 6:10 to go.
• Neither side could find the net again until the 2:34 mark when Hannah Fenstermacher sank a three for Cabrini. Alyssa Gerdes converted a layup that cut the Cavalier deficit to 52-30, but the Sea Gulls got 2-of-4 on a couple trips to the line, and Tori Rumbaugh beat the buzzer with a layup to push the lead back to 56-30 after three.
• Dilger managed a steal at the 8:24 mark and hit a jumper seconds later to open Salisbury's fourth quarter. Otlowski hit two free throws and then Dilger converted back-to-back layups, accounting for six points in an 8-0 SU run that propelled the lead to 64-30.
• After the Cavs nibbled it down to 66-36 with 4:04 to go, Caitlin Reed connected from distance, followed by two Madison Cuthbert free throws and an Alex Bull layup for yet another 7-0 run to get it back to 73-36 at the 2:40 mark. From there the Sea Gulls mopped it up, finishing it off at 75-40 for a 35-point road victory.

SALISBURY GAME NOTES

• Kaylee Otlowski netted a game-high 19 points (8-of-13) for the Sea Gulls. She also hauled in seven rebounds and handed out two assists. At 979 career points, Otlowski is just 21 away from becoming the 20th player in program history to reach 1,000 points.
• Emily Dilger went a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor and finished with 12 points to go along with eight rebounds, three steals and two assists.
• Kylie Webb finished with 11 points, going 3-of-7 from three-point range and 4-of-9 overall.
• Abby Wilkinson chipped in six points off the bench, while six Sea Gulls contributed either three or four points apiece. Fourteen of Salisbury's 15 players who saw action scored.
• The Sea Gulls made 45 percent (27-of-60) of their field goals for the game, including 7-of-18 (38.9 percent) from downtown. Salisbury took nine more free throws than the Cavaliers, converting 14-of-21 (66.7 percent) from the line.
• Salisbury outrebounded Cabrini 47-34, winning the offensive battle 15-13.
• SU forced 15 turnovers to win the giveaway margin by four.
• With 18 wins on the 2021-22 campaign, the Sea Gulls have clinched their most victories in one season since 2014-15 when SU went 28-3 and advanced to the NCAA national quarterfinals.

CABRINI GAME NOTES

• Leila Collazo scored seven points off the bench to lead the Cavaliers.
• Katie Rodriguez, Giana Rullo and Hannah Fenstermacher each chipped in five points.
• The Cavs shot just 27.6 percent (16-of-58) for the game and 2-of-13 (15.4 percent) from long range.

• The Sea Gulls return to Salisbury for their final home game of the regular season against Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) rival Mary Washington on Wednesday night.
• Salisbury bested the Eagles in Fredericksburg earlier this month, winning 48-43 on Feb. 5.
• The game will be the Sea Gulls' annual Play4Kay Game for women's cancer awareness and treatment, featuring an in-game raffle to support the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
