Neumann Takes Spin Out of Cyclones

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team picked up a 69-44 win over Centenary University on Saturday afternoon in an Atlantic East Conference matchup.

 

Madison Stewart led four Knights in double-figures with 12 points. Allyson Wills, Terea Hunt and Tierra Harris each netted 11 points in the win.

 

The first quarter was back and forth with six lead changes and five tied scores. The teams were knotted at 15 at the first break. The first part of the second quarter was the same and the teams were tied at 23 with 3:39 left before halftime. The Knights outscored the Cyclones 11-5 for a 34-28 advantage at the break.

 

The Knights scored the first five points of the third quarter for their first double-digit lead, 39-28. Leading 47-36 with 3:26 on the clock, Neumann finished the third quarter on an 11-0 run for a 58-36 lead heading into the final quarter.

 

The Knights held a 20+ point lead throughout the fourth quarter to come away with the 69-44 win.

 

Neumann (9-12, 4-4 Atlantic East) will host Marywood on Wednesday evening in the final home game of the regular season. The Knights will recognize their seniors prior to the game, slated to tip-off at 6:00 PM.
