MILWAUKEE – The Edgewood College Women's Basketball entered halftime of Saturday's Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at MSOE trailing 35-24. The Raiders just scored 22 points in the second quarter to take the 11-point lead into the break. The Eagles came out a different team in the second half, outscoring MSOE 32-13 over the final 20 minutes for a 56-48 road win.

EAGLES 56, RAIDERS 48
- Whatever message head coach Chaia Huff and her staff delivered at halftime worked on Saturday as the Eagles (6-11, 6-4 NACC) made things miserable for MSOE (6-10, 4-6 NACC) in the second half. Edgewood College held the Raiders to 18.2 percent (6-for-33) shooting after the break and forced eight MSOE turnovers.

- Meanwhile, the Eagles played better offensively in the second half as well thanks in large part to senior Abby Shane. Shane, who became the Eagle's all-time 3-point leader earlier this week, scored 13 points in the second half, going 3-for-6 from 3-point range and 4-for-4 from the foul line. The Eagles shot 16 free throws in the second half compared to none for the Raiders and made 12 of them. Diamond Pikulyk added a 5-for-6 effort from the free throw line after halftime.

- Shane's biggest bucket came with 1:21 left in the fourth quarter with the game tied at 48 and both offenses struggling. After a two-plus minute scoreless drought, Shane buried a 3-point jump shot to push the Eagles in front. Pikulyk and Shane would combine to go 5-for-6 at the line down the stretch and the defense continued its outstanding effort to secure the eight-point win.

- The Eagles wasted little getting back into the contest in the second half as they held MSOE without a point for the first seven-plus minutes. Edgewood College opened the second half with a 13-0 run capped by a 3-point make from Emma Klein. The Raiders would go back up one a couple different times, but a Lexi Walter shot to beat the buzzer in the third quarter gave Edgewood College a 41-40 lead heading in the final 10 minutes. Emma Raupp assisted on the Walter make.

- The Eagles picked up the league win despite shooting 29.6 percent (16-for-54) from the floor thanks to the second-half defense and an advantage at the free throw line. For the game, the Eagles were 17-for-23 from the line (73.9 percent) while the Raiders finished 3-for-5. The Eagles also were much better from 3-point range, shooting 30.4 percent (7-for-23) compared to a 15 percent (3-for-20) effort by MSOE.

- Edgewood College won the rebounding battle with a 46-36 advantage. Vivian Guerrero led all players with 10 rebounds, while adding eight points. Pikulyk and Eden Bonser both finished the game with 9 points and seven rebounds, while Claudia Fieiras pulled down a season-best eight boards.

- MSOE built the first-half lead thanks to the 22-point second quarter. The Raiders made 10-of-14 (71.4) percent from the floor in the second quarter, but the rest of the game was dominated by the Eagles defense. Grace Ellington and Raekyiah Williams each scored 12 points to pace MSOE.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- After setting the 3-point makes record earlier this week, Shane is now tied in a couple of other Edgewood College career records. She played in her 111th career game and made her 106th career start on Saturday, tied for the most in program history. Jordan Kittoe (2003-07) is the player Shane caught in both categories on Saturday.
