The Meredith College basketball team had their 16th game of the season yesterday against Southern Virginia. The Avenging Angels were defeated by the Knights by a score of 66-49. 

Offensively, Meredith was led by Junior Kate Perko who scored 17 points along with adding 6 rebounds. Sophomore Guard De'ja Morgan also contributed 16 points off the bench as she continues to be a staple of the Meredith offense. Sophomore Guard Piper Carriere posted a great line as well, with 6 points and a season high 8 rebounds.

The Knights were led by Senior Forward Kate Gerrish who posted 21 points along with 9 rebounds. The Knights also got a strong contribution from Senior Forward Savanna Christensen who posted 11 points as well as 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

The Avenging Angels will be right back in action on Wednesday as they play host to conference opponent N.C. Wesleyan.
