Edgewood College Rolls Alverno For Third-Straight NACC Win

MADISON, Wis. – Playing at home for the first time in over a month, the Edgewood College Women's Basketball team put together its most dominant performance of the season in an 83-28 win over Alverno College on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles have now won three-straight NACC games, bringing them back to .500 in conference play.

EAGLES 83, INFERNO 28
- The Eagles (3-10, 3-3 NACC) went wire-to-wire in Saturday's lopsided win. Edgewood College jumped out to a 9-0 lead and never looked back. Abby Shane hit one of her two 3-point makes in the opening 9-0 run for Edgewood College. Alverno (1-11, 0-5 NACC) wouldn't get closer than six points the rest of the way, and from the 1:10 mark in the opening quarter on it was a double-digit lead for Edgewood College.

- The Eagles played well in the first half and led 36-13 at the break, but really poured it on over the final 20 minutes. Edgewood College couldn't miss in the fourth quarter, outscoring Alverno 31-9 over the final 10 minutes, while shooting 80 percent (12-for-15) during that span. Annika Lundgren hit a couple of 3-point shots in the fourth quarter as the Eagles finished the game 7-for-23 from 3-point range, their most makes from distance this season.

- The Eagles were incredibly balanced in the win with Diamond Pikulyk leading the way with 12 points. Overall, 12 different players scored with seven scoring at least eight points or more. Eden Bonser added 10 points, while Emma Klein, Kallie Norby, and Emma Raupp each contributed nine. Mady Pahl and Claudia Fieiras each scored eight. Norby, Raupp, and Fieras all posted career-best efforts in the win.

- The Eagles shot 54 percent (34-for-63) for the game, easily a season-best effort. Edgewood College also recorded a season-best 23 assists with all 13 players recording at least one. Raupp led all players with five assists in the win.

- The Eagles finished the game with 50 bench points, further proving the balanced attack. Edgewood College also won the rebounding battle, 44-34.

- Alverno was led by Lauryn Hilliard who scored a team-best eight points. Edgewood College forced 24 Alverno turnovers and only committed 14 themselves in the win.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Shane continues to approach the Eagles 3-point record for career makes. She now has 170 career 3-point makes, which is five behind Shae Beckwith's (2007-11) record of 175.

- Pikulyk has now scored in double-figures in seven-straight games.
