The No. 1-ranked Hope College women's basketball team picked up right where it left off two weeks ago.
Playing for the first time in the new year, the top-ranked Flying Dutch rolled to a 100-54 victory against Adrian College on Wednesday at DeVos Fieldhouse.
It was Hope's 57th consecutive victory, the longest active winning streak in NCAA basketball.
The Flying Dutch took the court for the first time since a 98-42 victory against Central College (Iowa) on December 29 in Orlando, Florida.
"We shot the ball well. I think we defended pretty well. Overall, a good way to get back," head coach Brian Morehous said.
Hope improved to 12-0 overall and 4-0 in MIAA play.
The Flying Dutch never trailed after jumping out to a 33-13 first-quarter lead.
Hope extended the lead to 53-21 by halftime as senior Kenedy Schoonveld (Zeeland, Michigan / Holland Christian HS) scored 13 of her 14 points. With 1,242 career points, Schoonveld passed Kristin Carlson for ninth place on the Flying Dutch's career scoring list.
Junior Savannah Feenstra (Osceola, Indiana / Northwood) topped the Flying Dutch off the bench with a career-high 19 points.
Junior Claire Baguley (Ada, Michigan / Forest Hills Central) added 10 points off the bench.
Hope reached the century mark for the fourth time this season and the 33rd time in team history.
The Flying Dutch shot a season-best both from the field at 59.4 percent (38-64) and 3-point range at 64.7 percent (11-17).
Adrian (5-9, 2-4 MIAA) received 12 points from Chelsea Palmer and 10 points from Kiaya Warner. Hope forced the Bulldogs into 34.5 percent from the field (20-58) and 27 turnovers.
Hope's next game is Thursday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m. at Alma College.
