LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's basketball team closed the 2021 portion of the schedule by dropping the final non-conference game of the season at home.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine led for a majority of the first half
• Alex Fanning scored the first five points for Benedictine as the team jumped out to an 8-4 lead
• Fanning and Brilan McCory tallied back-to-back baskets as Benedictine moved ahead 12-6 at the 6:16 mark of the opening quarter
• Fanning continued her hot start to the game by hitting a three-pointer to make the score 19-12 with 4:18 remaining in the first
• The up-tempo contest saw Benedictine lead 21-15 after the first
• Fanning helped Benedictine open their largest lead at the start of the second, connecting on a jumper to make the score 23-15
• Calvin responded with an 8-0 run to even the score with 7:11 left in the half and held a 37-31 lead with just over a minute remaining, taking a 37-33 edge into the break
• With Fanning battling foul trouble, Calvin worked the ball inside and started the second half strong, using a 15-4 run to open a 52-37 advantage at the halfway point of the third
• Benedictine pulled within nine at the end of the quarter on a three from McCory
• Britney Pitzer hit a three to draw Benedictine within 64-57 with 6:22 to go before the visitors stretched the lead to double digits again by notching six straight
• Free throws helped Benedictine pull within seen in the final minute on a Claire Gibler layup, but Calvin held on for the victory
