The Baruch College Bearcats lost 72-62 to St. Joseph's College of Long Island in a non-conference contest on Saturday afternoon in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats played a strong first quarter (19-18), but the visiting Golden Eagles outscored the Bearcats 23-9 in the second quarter to take control. That 23-9 advantage proved to be the biggest difference this afternoon as the Bearcats out-scored their visitors a combined 35-30 in the third and fourth quarters.

The Golden Eagles shot 41 percent (28-for-68), while the Bearcats shot 35 percent (27-for-78) taking 10 more shots in the tough home loss before the upcoming final exam and holiday break.

Mia Castillo had another big effort totaling career-highs in points (34), steals (7) and blocked shots (4).

Elissa Leung was busy again with nine points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals.

Alyssa Adomaites was tops for the visitors from the Skyline Conference with 23 points. Alyssa Signor had a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
