ARLINGTON, Va. – The Salisbury University women's basketball team shot a scintillating 68 percent in the second half, overcoming a five-point halftime deficit and rolling past the Marymount (Va.) Saints, 66-47, for its fourth straight victory on Wednesday night at Converse Family Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Down 3-2 less than three minutes into the game, the Sea Gulls converted on three straight possessions, with Ashlynn Burrows, Kylie Webb and Burrows again knocking down assisted jumpers to put SU on top 8-3 at the 6:15 mark of the first quarter.
• The Saints answered with a 10-0 run over the next six minutes. Terra Dzambo's layup put MU on top 9-8, and eventually Chandler Eddleton's layup built the lead to 13-8 with 35 seconds remaining in the period. Salisbury finally answered as Abby Wilkinson drained a bucket to make it a one-possession game, 13-10, at the end of the first.
• Marymount kept the momentum rolling at the start of the second quarter, hitting three shots in a row to go up 19-10 on Eddleton's layup with 6:29 until halftime. After Lauren Fortescue stopped the bleeding with one-of-two free throws, Salisbury got back into it as Webb put back her own miss and Kaylee Otlowski took it coast-to-coast for a bucket to make it 19-15 Saints at the 3:46 mark.
• Following an MU timeout and one Claire Smith free throw, Webb found Burrows for an open jay, bringing the Sea Gulls back within one possession at 20-17. Smith answered for the Saints with a pair from the foul line, then the teams traded one more bucket apiece, sending it to halftime with Marymount on top 24-19.
• After the break the Sea Gulls began to hit their stride. Down 27-21 half a minute into the third, Fortescue and Burrows nailed jumpers on consecutive possessions to get it to 27-25. Both teams went cold for two minutes but SU tied it at the 6:31 mark when Burrows' two made it 27-27.
• Otlowski drained a bucket at the 4:48 mark to give SU a 29-27 lead, but the Saints responded with an immediate 7-0 run. Smith hit two layups and Kyle Treadwell sank a three-pointer to rebuild the MU cushion to 34-29 at the 3:40 mark of the third.
• From there Salisbury found a new level on offense. Fortescue scored on two straight possessions, tying it at 34-34 with a triple. Hailey Ader hit one-of-two from the charity stripe and poured in two straight layups, then Ader found Otlowski for a layup that capped a 12-0 run, closing the third quarter with the Sea Gulls on top 41-34.
• Dzambo and Eddleton kept the Saints in it with a pair of threes early in the fourth quarter that made it 43-40. Fortescue had an answer for SU, connecting from downtown to get it back to 46-40 with 6:03 to go. MU never got as close for the rest of the game.
• Fortescue's trey jump-started an 8-0 Salisbury run, capped by an Ader jumper to make it 52-40 with 3:41 remaining. From there the Sea Gulls put some more distance between themselves and their hosts, nailing seven of their 10 free throw attempts over the final two minutes to run away with a 66-47 margin and their fourth straight win.

SALISBURY GAME NOTES

• Lauren Fortescue netted a season-high 18 points (5-13, 6-8 FT) to lead all scorers. She is averaging 16 points per contest over the Sea Gulls' four-game winning streak. Fortescue also stuffed the stat sheet with six rebounds, five steals and four assists.
• Kaylee Otlowski registered her third straight double-double and 25th of her SU career with 16 points (6-of-12) and 12 rebounds, plus two assists and two blocks.
• Hailey Ader reached double-figure scoring for the first time in her career, chipping in 11 points (5-of-9) while hauling in five rebounds for her fourth straight game over 22 minutes.
• Ashlynn Burrows scored 10 points with four rebounds in her second straight start.
• The Sea Gulls shot 17-of-25 (68 percent) in the second half and held Marymount to 9-of-34 (26.5 percent) shooting over the same span, outfoxing the Saints 47-23 over the final 20 minutes. Salisbury scored 37 of its 66 points over the final 13:14 of the game.
• For the game SU made 25-of-57 (43.9 percent) from the floor and assisted on 17 of their 25 field goals.
• Salisbury turned it over a season-low seven times while forcing 16 Marymount giveaways.
• This is the second time this season the Sea Gulls have held an opponent under 50 points and the sixth time in eight games they've kept a foe under 60.

MARYMOUNT GAME NOTES

• Chandler Eddleton led the Saints with 11 points (5-of-9) and contended for a double-double with eight rebounds.
• Claire Smith also narrowly missed a double-double, netting 10 points with eight rebounds and four steals. She also took all nine of the Saints' free throw attempts for the game, hitting four.
• Katie McShea scored eight points with nine boards, and Terra Dzambo chipped in eight points of her own.
• The Saints shot a paltry 31.1 percent (19-of-61) from the floor.
• MU outrebounded SU 39-37 and outmuscled the Sea Gulls 15-9 on the offensive glass.
