Edgewood College Drops Home Opener Against No. 17 UW-Oshkosh

MADISON, Wis. – The difficult non-conference slate for the Edgewood College Women's Basketball team continued Wednesday with the home opener against No. 17 UW-Oshkosh. The Titans lived up to their ranking with a convincing 78-46 win over the Eagles inside the Todd Wehr Edgedome.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UW-Oshkosh (4-1) jumped out to an 8-0 lead and never looked back, building a 27-9 advantage after one quarter of play. The Titans shot 73.3 percent (11-for-15) from the floor in the opening 10 minutes.

- Edgewood College (0-3) played better after the first quarter, but never threatened the Titans lead, which resulted in the 78-46 final.

- Emma Klein paced the Eagles with 12 points, including knocking down 2-of-4 from 3-point range. Vivian Guerrero played well in her home debut with nine points and a team-best seven rebounds. Eden Bonser added eight points and three assists for Edgewood College.

- Nikki Arneson led the way for UW-Oshkosh with 22 points on 7-of-9 shooting, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range. Preseason All-American Leah Porath added 14 points and a game-high eight rebounds.

- The Titans controlled the glass in the win, outrebounding Edgewood College, 44-23. UW-Oshkosh also narrowly won the turnover battle, which helped them get up 11 more shots (58-47) than the Eagles on Wednesday night. Free throw shooting was also well in favor of the Titans, who made 17-of-24 from the charity stripe compared to the 8-for-17 effort from Edgewood College.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The loss snaps a 12-game Edgedome winning streak for the Eagles. Their last loss at home was a 71-66 setback against Benedictine University on January 18, 2020. The Eagles went 5-0 in home games last year during the shortened season.

- UW-Oshkosh now leads the all time series, 13-1. The last meeting was an NCAA Tournament contest on March 6, 2020. UW-Oshkosh won that tournament game, 61-40.

- Edgewood College has a little over a week off as they will take part in the UW-La Crosse Holiday Inn Express Thanksgiving Classic on November 26-27. The first game for Edgewood College at the tournament will be on Friday, November 26 against host UW-La Crosse at 3 p.m.
