NORTON, Mass. - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's basketball team lost a tough one late to Wheaton College (WC), 62-60, inside Emerson Gymnasium Saturday evening in the Wheaton Tip-Off Classic.

Freshman guard Maya Slisz (New Britain, Conn.) had a chance to tie it at the end on a pass from senior guard Cheyenne-Mone Smith(Wethersfield, Conn.), who fired the ball inside with just a second or two on the clock. Slisz had to get it up in a hurry, and the shot ended up just off the mark. Smith had a double-double (15 Pts, 11 Reb) despite the loss, while sophomore forward Jordan Ouellette (Bristol, Conn.) added 10 points on 3-of-8 shooting from the field.

The Blue Jays trailed by as many as 12 in this one, and by six in the fourth quarter, but found a way to get back in the game, outscoring Wheaton by four in the fourth (14-10). USJ struggled from deep (1-10 3FG) though, and had 19 turnovers, leading to 21 points off those turnovers for Wheaton.
