PITTSFORD, N.Y. — It was a tough debut in the Empire 8 for the Keuka College Women's Basketball team as the Wolves fell 76-40 at Nazareth College on Friday night.
Keuka College (0-1, 0-1 Empire 8) was led by Amelia Poole (Bloomfield, N.Y. / Bloomfield) with 10 points.

Kaitlin Snipas (Mountain Top, Pa. / Crestwood) hit an early three. Amelia Poole followed that with a steal and layup as the Wolves took an early 5-2 lead. Nazareth responded with a three to tie the game and took the lead on a pair of free throws on the next possession. The Golden Flyers led 19-13 after one.
The Wolves struggled from the floor, shooting just 2-16 in the second quarter. Nazareth would go 9-21 from the floor and outscore Keuka 18-6 in the frame. The hosts led 37-19 at the half.
Keuka College fought hard to keep the game within reach in the third. The Wolves shot 46.2% from the floor, but their long-ball was not there as they were 0-4 from deep. Nazareth outscored them 17-15 in the quarter and took a 54-34 lead into the final quarter.
The Golden Flyers pulled away in the fourth, outscoring Keuka 22-6 on their way to the 76-40 victory.

- Keuka and Nazareth College first met in women's basketball in the 1974-75 season. The Golden Flyers hold the all-time series lead 18-10
- Meaghan McGwin (Rochester, N.Y. / Hilton) had eight points and a team-high six rebounds in the loss. The sophomore surpassed 200 career points during the game
- Rebounding favored the Golden Flyers as they outrebounded the Wolves 49-33. That led to Nazareth being +16 in second-chance points

The Wolves and Golden Flyers will play the second half of their home and home on Saturday afternoon. Nazareth will host Keuka College at 2pm in Kidera Gymnasium.
