Millsaps Women’s Basketball Dominates Centre, 68-40 to Improve to 6-0

JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps women's basketball team was able to find their range shooting 50 percent from three-point range in a dominating 68-40 win over Centre inside the Hangar Dome on Saturday.

Millsaps (6-0, 5-0 SAA) had three scorers reach double figures: seniors Dia Fortenberry (20 points, 11 rebounds), Taelor Manning (18 points, four rebounds) and freshman Helena Roe (11 points, 3-for-5 3FG). Sophomore Elecia Lartigue had a strong day distributing the ball with four assists to lead the Majors.

On the way to victory, the Majors continued their defensive supremacy throughout their season by holding Centre (0-3, 0-3 SAA) to only 26.9 percent from the field.

Millsaps went into the 4th quarter with a 13-point lead. At the 8:51 mark, Centre was able to cut down the lead to nine, 49-40. This was the last time the game would remain within double digits as Centre would not score again. The Majors closed the game out on a 17-0 run on the strength of three combined and-one plays by Fortenberry and Manning.
