Sewanee Women’s Basketball Ends 2020 Campaign in SAA Tournament

MEMPHIS - The Sewanee women's basketball team concluded the 2019-20 season with an 86-58 defeat to Rhodes College in the quarterfinal round of the 2020 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Tournament from Mallory Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Lynx, one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the country, posted a 7-of-10 mark from downtown to lead 33-13 after 10 minutes of play.

-Despite Sewanee outscoring Rhodes in the second and fourth quarters, the hosts put the game away with a 20-7 third period, out-rebounding the visitors, 18-6.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Ellie Treanton led the Tigers with a game-high 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting, adding four rebounds and three steals.

-Lakeisha Phillips added 13 points and six rebounds in 24 bench minutes, while Allison Hitchcock totaled 10 points.

RHODES KEY STATISTICS
-Kiera Downey led the Lynx with 21 points and eight rebounds, while Maya Longacre posted 15 boards.
