ROME, Ga. - The Sewanee women's basketball team was defeated by the Vikings of Berry College, 75-55, Sunday afternoon from The Cage Center in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Game of the Week.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-After Berry started the game on a 7-2 run, Sewanee went on an 8-0 run to take an early 10-7 lead with less than five minutes remaining in the opening quarter.
-Despite Sewanee reclaiming a 13-12 lead, Jana Morning's triple gave Berry a 15-13 lead after one quarter of play.
-The Tigers kept pace with the Vikings thanks to a Lakeisha Phillips jumper to even the score at 21 points each with less than six minutes left in the half. However, the Vikings finished the half with a 13-5 run to lead 34-26 at the break.
-Berry, leading 37-31 early in the third stanza, put the contest away on an 11-1 run to lead, 48-32, with 1:34 left in the period.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Ellie Treanton led the Tigers with a game-high 19 points and added two steals.
-Lakeisha Phillips recorded 13 rebounds in 23 bench minutes.
BERRY KEY STATISTICS
-Jana Morning posted 17 points and added seven dimes and five boards to lead Berry.
UP NEXT
The regular season will conclude on Saturday with a trip to Danville, Ky. to face Centre.
