Gwynedd Mercy Women Notch Fourth Win In A Row

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy cruised to their fourth-straight win with their 103-66 non-conference victory over Valley Forge at The Griffin Complex on Saturday.

All 13 Griffins that stepped on the floor registered a point, as the team used a 38-18 second quarter to open up a sizeable lead by halftime.

Haley Crossley had team highs of 18 points and nine rebounds. Tamia Wessels netted 14 and Sydney Thompson added 11. Crossley, Elise Sylvester, Jill Kane, and Tolu Omole all had three steals apiece as the team turned 25 Patriot turnovers into 27 points.

GMercyU got out to a 13-0 lead to start the contest and take a 26-15 advantage after the first. Valley Forge scored the first five points on the second to make it 26-20 before Wessels and Thompson turned in back-to-back-to-back three-pointers to help kickstart a 13-0 run. A three from Kelly Owens right before the end of the half put Gwynedd up 64-33 at the break.

This is the sixth game of the season where the team hit 15 three pointers and are 4-2 when doing so.

Cayleen Conrad paced the Patriots with 18 points. Aleaa Flowers chipped in 10 points, eight boards, and four assists.

The team now prepares for Marywood on Wednesday which takes place here at The Griffin Complex starting at 6 p.m.
